For this assignment I wanted to make a magazine that reflected art that I like, and inspires me. When creating both of these covers I wanted to make something that was simple and not overwhelming. When I think of magazine covers I always think of magazines you find the checkout of a grocery store. They are always bright and cluttered. I personally don't like them, but they gave me an idea of how to use color. For both covers I wanted a minimal aesthetic. On the first magazine I wanted to use red as the main color because it stands out. I see red used on many magazines for this reason. Time magazine is a good example of this. I also wanted the magazine to have an eerie tone to it. The color red is often associated with danger. I also feel like I accomplished this tone by having the title against the side of the page and elongating the bottom of it.
